| Opened letter to Emilio Gancedo |

Con respecto al reportaje publicado el 12/08/2009 por Emilio Gancedo titulado "Una «Llionpedia» no tan completa" esta asociación cultural quisiera manifestar, puntualizar y corregir algunas de las afirmaciones que, gratuitamente, se han vertido en dicho reportaje y que atacan directamente los objetivos a los que se dedica esta asociación cultural.
1. Primeramente es conveniente dejar muy claro que la Asociación Cultural de la Llingua Llïonesa El Fueyu no participa ni directa ni indirectamente en este proyecto como asociación, pero sí que hemos pedido a nuestros socios que en la medida de sus posibilidades lo hagan a título particular pues como promoción de la lengua leonesa nos parece la mejor herramienta disponible actualmente. Por ello nuestros socios se han sentido ofendidos por las graves acusaciones que se realizan en dicho reportaje.
2. Se califica como herramienta de poder y no un servicio al ciudadano, justificado en el hecho de que no aparecen nombres que el periodista cita como indispensables. Quizás convendría recordar que la aparición o de no de nombres en artículos corresponde a la simple voluntad de los colaboradores de la llionpedia. Por tanto, si no aparecen es o porque no interesan o porque nadie lo ha hecho hasta ahora.
3. No entendemos cual es el problema de que una concejalía, la única hasta la fecha, que publica, promociona y trabaja abiertamente en pro de la lengua leonesa (incluso es quien comienza el proyecto) tenga referencias en Llionpedia ¿Cuál es el problema de que se publiquen? ¿Acaso hay intencionalidad política? La A.C. El Fueyu jamás ha tenido problemas con ningún ente gubernamental, sean de donde sean ni del partido que ostente el poder. Entendemos que la lengua leonesa de todos, sin colores políticos. Y a pesar de ello Emilio Gancedo nos ha descalificado en numerosas ocasiones a la vez que ha ensalzado a otras personas supuestamente expertas en la materia con abierta manifestación y participación en la política ¿Es necesario dar nombres y poner ejemplos?
4. Tampoco queremos entrar en criterios personales sobre cuestiones bibliográficas, pero sí matizar las afirmaciones que, por falsas, merecen su respuesta: la primera gran recopilación no es de la doctora Janick Le Men sino del recientemente fallecido Eugenio Miguélez con su libro "Diccionario de las Hablas Leonesas", donde recopila toda la bibliografía existente en un único libro, creando el primer diccionario. Y curiosamente a Emilio Gancedo no le preocupa que no tenga artículo "Branas d'Antanu ya Xente d'Anguanu", libro reeditado por el Ayuntamiento de León y escrito por Eva González, o que no figuren tantos otros libros bastante más indispensables que la obra que cita. Ante estas ausencias, la respuesta es de sentido común: cualquier persona puede introducir esos artículos. Con ello queda clara que la intencionalidad no ha sido elaborar un reportaje con crítica objetiva sino promocionar la trayectoria de sus "amigos".
5. Se afirma que, citamos textualmente, "adolece por el momento del necesario rigor científico". Pero es que hay que recordar que es un proyecto libre y abierto a absolutamente todo el mundo, incluído el propio Emilio Gancedo. No entendemos cómo puede hacer un llamamiento al rigor científico cuando la primera falta de rigor es precisamente el punto de partida del reportaje: opiniones anónimas en blogs y foros de internet. Entendíamos que uno de los principios del periodismo era contratar las informaciones y no recoger sin filtro alguno las opiniones que interesan al periodista de turno para justificar su artículo. .
6. No comprendemos que se acuse de "sectarismo" cuando precisamente ha sido este mismo medio el único que no realizó ningún tipo de mención al IV Día de la Llingua Llïonesa el día de su celebración, cosa que recogieron ampliamente todos los demás de medios de comunicación leoneses. O que como viene siendo ya una costumbre, se censuren y no se publique ni uno solo de los comunicados que desde esta asocación hemos remitido al Diario de León. O las cientos de cartas que no son publicadas y que nos consta son remitidas a este medio o al propio periodista y que "alguien" se encarga oportunamente de filtrar. Lo mismo que sucederá con la presente...
7. En último lugar, su reportaje tiene fácil réplica: todo, absolutamente todo lo que no le guste, esté en desacuerdo o considere que falta, hágalo usted mismo. Libremente. Sin censuras. Corrija, añada o elimine lo que crea conveniente. No señale con el dedo y mire lo que usted hace. Pero por favor, a los que tenemos una voluntad de defensa de la lengua leonesa, déjenos en paz y no cargue sus frustraciones o inquinas personales. Somos ya muchos los que empezamos a estar cansados de la censura, manipulación y tergiversación que el periodista Emilio Gancedo realiza en sus artículos.

The Councillorship of Leonese Culture of León's Town hall, informed our association across press release that Llionpedia, the encyclopaedic and participative initiative in leonese language published only one month ago, has reached already 5000 articles in diverse areas as history, politics, geography or science.
From the Cultural Association of the Leonese Language, we want to show our happiness and letter of congratulation for this fact, which supposes another historicalin the fight for the dignifying and normalization of our language.

The agreement between TVCyL and the Councillorship of Leonese Culture of León's Town hall allows the creation of the first informative one of news in leonese language, which is emitted every Saturday at 20:15 and every Monday at 10:30 in the channel number 8.
The program is born, according to the Councilman of Education, New Technologies and Leonese Culture of the Town hall of Leon, the leonesist Abel Pardo, fruit of an agreement of collaboration between the Television of Castile and Leon and the Councillorship of Leonese Culture. The television takes charge of the technical and journalistic part, indicating the most important information of the week that will offer in the Television newscast, and fulfilling visual part the montages. For its part the Councillorship of Leonese Culture takes charge realizing the translations to the Leonese Language of the information that appear in the television newscast and of the persons who put voice to the news in Leonese Language.
Pardo showed his satisfaction for " this new achievement that supposes for the culture and the language from Leon possessing own spaces in the mass media ".

The Councilman of Leonese Culture of the Town hall of León, Abel Pardo Fernandez, presented today the new initiative of his councillorship and also historical milestone in the process of recovery and normalization of our language: Llionpedia, the encyclopedia in leonese participative and free.
Llionpedia is an encyclopaedic tool on-line, to which any user or speaker of leonese can accede across the url www.llionpedia.eu. This space is born with more than thousand articles in leonese, one more infinity being able to be created on the part of the internauts of them or modify or extend the already existing ones.
Pardo emphasized that the aim of this initiative is to stimulate the language and its cultural value with the minimal cost that has supposed the acquisition of the domain .eu.
From the Cultural Association of the Leonese Language El Fueyu, we want to transmit our happiness and support for this fact that marks another fundamental point in the recovery and dignifying of the leonese one.

4th Day of the Leonese Language |

On morning of last Sunday, was celebrated in the Don Gutierre's Palace the Day IV of the Leonese Language, organized by the Councillorship of Leonese Culture of León's Town hall. They were more than three hundred persons those who filled the Assembly hall of the Don Gutierre's Palace in an event that was based on a speech of the proper councilman, Abel Pardo Fernandez, the delivery of diplomas to all the students who this year took part well in the courses of leonese for adults or in the out-of-school activity of Leonese Language and Culture, besides a set of musical performances and the reading os poems in our language at the expense of writers like Xuasús Gonzalez, Luis Artigue, Xairu Llópez or Michael Escanciano.
From our associations only we can show our satisfaction for the good health of the one that enjoys the interest in our existing language in the leonese capital.

| 4th Day of the Leonese Language |

The Councilman of Leonese Culture of the Town hall of León, Abel Pardo Fernandez, presented today the celebration of the Day IV of the Leonese Language that will take place in the Assembly hall of the Don Gutierre's Palace next Sunday, the 21st of June, at 12:00.
The event will consist of an intervention of Abel Pardo and a poetical reading at the expense of authors in from Leon as Xuasús Gonzalez or Xairu Llópez, as well as of other writers who as general norm do not use this language as way of expression written but in this occasion yes they will take part of it, as Luis Artigue or Michael Escanciano. Finished this reading, one will proceed to the delivery of diplomas to all the from Leon ones that in this year took part in the courses of from Leon for adults or in the out-of-school activity of Language and Culture From Leon given in León's colleges, being closed the event with an action(performance) of the musician from Leon Rodrigo Martínez who will interpret a few "Vaqueiradas", you will sing traditional of Laciana's Valley, and a pasacalles from 13:00 at the expense of the Band of Bagpipes Ciudá de Llión.

The Council of Leonese Culture celebrated this weekend an important course about Mirandese Language, the standarization process and comparison with Leonese Language case. To that, assisted Amadeu Ferreira, one of the most key references in the linguistic recovering process that is taking place in Miranda. In this event was presented the Mirandese books Os Luisadas and O Mirandés - História de Uma Lengua e de un Povo, illustrated by Jose Ruy. With this activity the Councilship of Leonese Culture of the City Hall of Leon, directed by Abel Pardo, wants to fix and close the links between both territories and linguistic collaboration that is developing since time ago between Leonese and Mirandese people.

Our association has requested a public rectification today the PP for despising the education of the leonese language before the declarations of the councillor Arancha Miguélez, in which she assures that the management of the Council of Leon in the area of education is based only on particular classes of leonese by public funds.
From El Fueyu we declare that already there have been signed diverse agreements of collaboration with many town halls and deputations, all of them governed by the PP, being precisely Mario Amilivia the first mayor who signed a diploma in leonese or Javier García Prieto the first president of a Deputation who realized the first agreement to extend the education of the leonses language one to the whole province. Both politicians concern to the Partido Popular.
We think that it turns out to be shameful and frustrating to verify as the political class tries to undo all the positive steps that are given in favor of our language and we want her to remember to the popular councillor that the defense, education and normalization of the leonese language one, they are recognized rights not only for the UNESCO but for the own statute of autonomy, which was approved by 100 % of the votes emitted by attorneys of her party.

The Councillorship of Culture From Leon of León's Town hall, at the expense of the councillor Abel Pardo Fernandez, celebrates for the second year in a row the Day of the Leonese Language in its third edition.
This year the event will be based on the relation of our language with the TIC's and for it and as great innovation, a lot of chats will develop across the internet, as well as an informative day brings over of the need of an internet domain to our language.
From the Association of the Leonese Language El Fueyu, we want to congratulate to León's Town hall on this initiative that supposes an important contribution for the normalization and revitalization of the leonese in de society.
